From Our Kitchen to the Neighborhood
Where family traditions became a neigborhood bakery.
It All Started with a Loaf
Sourdope Bread Co. was born from two stories that came together at just the right time.
For Carlos, baking sourdough became a holiday family tradition. Each year, he baked fresh loaves by hand to share with his siblings—a simple way to slow down, spend time together, and create something meaningful for the people he loved.
Around the same time, co-founder Hakson had recently welcomed his son, Calvin, and was inspired to build something that could support his growing family while creating a lasting tradition of his own. After seeing his sister build a successful bread business, he thought of Carlos' annual holiday loaves and wondered if they could become something bigger.
After many conversations—and plenty of baking—Sourdope Bread Co. was created.
